Tired of Covering Your Arms?

Brachioplasty, commonly known as an arm lift, is a procedure that lifts and reshapes the under portion of your arm to appear tight and youthful.

If you have sagging skin on your upper arms, you are not alone. This is a common problem for many people. There are a plethora of reasons as to why this happens, from weight loss, to age. While it isn’t a health issue, it can make us feel embarrassed when we have to bare our arms. Brachioplasty is used to reduce sagging, drooping skin of the upper arms; tighten and smooth the tissue beneath the skin in order to create a more defined and pleasing shape of the arm; and reduce the pockets of fat in the upper arm that add to the problem. Brachioplasty is intended to correct issues that exercise cannot.

  • How does the Brachioplasty Work?
An incision is made, spanning from the underarm to the elbow, and alongside of the upper arm. Then we remove excess fat and trim/tighten the excess skin. If there is only a small amount of excess skin, a minimal arm lift procedure may be performed. Once the arm has been tightened, the incision is closed and will be dissolved by the body.
  • What Is Recovery Like?
After the arm lift procedure, some swelling and bruising may occur, as well as some mild discomfort that can be handled with the proper pain medication. Depending on how much skin was removed, the final result is not seen until the body is able to reduce all the swelling and form a mature scar.

Is Brachioplasty Right for You?

Brachioplasty, or an Arm Lift, is a surgical procedure that can help improve the appearance of the arms by carefully removing the loose excess skin, and tightening the flabby upper arm tissue. Arm lift surgery can tighten loose skin on your upper arms, restoring the confidence you need to wear sleeveless clothing again.

When there is good skin elasticity, an arm lift can reduce arm size simply by suctioning the fat from underneath the skin with liposuction, though when there is significant skin laxity due to age or weight loss, then the arm skin needs to be reduced by means of surgery.

If you have loose upper arm skin, an arm lift can help. Find out more about our Bracioplasty procedure, or to schedule an appointment with our experts, please call at (432) 689-6300.
