Platelet Rich Plasma PRP)

There have been many advances in enhancing cosmetic procedures in recent years. To treat lines and wrinkles from muscles, we commonly use Botox® and Dysport®. Fillers — such as Radiesse®, Juvederm®, and others — get the nod to soften deep folds and add volume.

However, Medical Spa of Midland now has another option: platelet rich plasma (PRP) , our own body’s natural source for rejuvenation. With PRP therapy, we can stimulate long-term collagen growth, which in turn provides you with a more youthful look.*

What can you expect during your for platelet rich plasma procedure?

First, we draw a small amount (about 10cc) of blood. The blood is collected in a specially prepared test tube, containing a separating gel that helps collect the precious platelets. Once the PRP is ready, it’s placed in a syringe; and ready for injection. We then inject the PRP into the areas you want to improve. This procedure will rejuvenate your entire face. Please be aware that your recovery period may involve swelling and, in some cases, bruising. This swelling should subside in 3 to 7 days. Applying cold compresses, elevating your head, and using arnica cream can minimize any swelling and bruising. Once these effects subside, patients will notice that lines and wrinkles have softened and that areas of volume loss look fuller.

Results vary from patient to patient, depending on the following factors:

In general, usually over a 3 to 4 week time period, you will be able to see improvements in overall skin texture, complexion, and tone.

The best part? These improvements can continue for up to a year!
