Endermologie FAQ

Does it really work?

Yes. Endermologie® has been extensively studied for the past 25 years and the first FDA approved system to reduce cellulite appearance and tone the skin.*For more specific info and scientific results please visit:   www.LPGsystems.com

 What is cellulite?

Between 85% and 95% of females display some degree of cellulite. Cellulite is not related to being overweight as average and underweight people also get cellulite.

Cellulite is a combination of fat and connective tissue surrounded by fluids. It is held in place by a network of fibers and is located in the subcutaneous layer that is above the reserve fat layer putting it closer to the outer layer of skin. When the body’s waste removal starts to fail, waste products start building up. The connective tissue becomes saturated with liquid that thickens and hardens forming hard pockets that puff up to produce the “orange peel” or “cottage cheese” appearance known as cellulite.

How many treatments are necessary?

Depending on your body type usually 14-28 initial treatments, 1-2 times a week, are necessary to achieve the optimal results, with a monthly visit thereafter for maintenance.

When will I begin to see results?

It varies for each person, but most patients see results after approximately 6 treatments. You will notice a dramatic difference as your number of treatments increase.

What sensations will I experience during my treatment? Does it hurt?

The sensation is similar to a deep massage. Most clients find it relaxing and pleasant. The strength of the treatment is always individually customized for optimal comfort level.

What does a typical treatment consist of?

Although targeted areas are concentrated on, Endermologie® is a full body treatment. You will put on a thin, pantyhose like suit, which helps the machine glide more easily over the body. During the 35-minute treatment, you lie down on a massage table and relax.

What should I do before my treatment and what should I expect to feel afterwards?

Drinking at least 8 cups of water prior to your treatment will stimulate the lymphatic system and improve results. Afterwards most patients feel an increase of energy and an overall feeling of relaxation. It is important to drink lots of water following your treatment, as it will aid in toxin elimination.

Does Endermologie® help me lose weight?

No, it is not a weight loss device and does not replace exercise or a healthy diet. In fact the results will be enhanced if you exercise regularly and eat healthy.

Are there any side effects?

Minor, temporary bruising is uncommon but may occur.

What is the difference between Endermologie® and liposuction? Can it be used instead of liposuction?

Unlike liposuction, Endermologie® is completely non-invasive and does not involve breaking the skin in any way. While liposuction does not reduce the appearance of cellulite, the converse is true for endermologie. Liposuction mainly attacks the middle layer of fat but leaves the surface layer that may remain loose and increasingly dimpled. Endermologie targets the top layer of dimpled skin breaking up the congested lymphatic flow, which reduces the appearance of cellulite. You can use endermologie in conjunction with liposuction as part of a dual treatment to increase results and it is highly recommended to those who have undergone liposuction.

Can I receive treatments if I am pregnant?

It is recommended that pregnant women do not receive treatments.

Does this treatment work on men also?

Definitely. Our clinical experience has shown excellent results for problem areas such as “love” handles and loose pectoral tissue.
